Vision Statement

The Volunteer Center serving Nash and Edgecombe counties is dedicated to the services of our ever-expanding community. We vow to assist that expansion through community building. By augmenting the knowledge of volunteer opportunities in the area, we will meet the needs and aspirations of the community.

Our Roles in the Community

  • Connect people with volunteer opportunities

  • Promote volunteer needs of local nonprofits, civic and governmental agencies

  • Information & Referral

  • Working with local Emergency Management officials in a volunteer management capacity during a time of crisis

Keys to Success

  • Make the community aware of our roles
  • Make non-profit, governmental, and other civic organizations aware of our roles
  • Remove any barriers from the generous act of volunteering
  • Promoting volunteer needs of the community
  • Assist the community by connecting them with information and services they may need
  • Keep the community aware of upcoming events, volunteer opportunities, and services offered, by working with schools, religious establishments, governmental organizations, and other civic groups
  • Keep and update an ever-growing list of volunteers from the community
  • Recognize the talents of those volunteers and place them where they are best suited
  • Keep the Volunteer Center growing through and with the community
  • Bridging the gaps to create a proactive approach to disaster response and recovery

By utilizing these keys for success, we will build a bridge to a better community. The Volunteer Center will devote its time and energy to promoting the spirit of community through volunteerism and service.
